Update 4/25/2024 updated 4/28/2024 updated 5/2/2024
We are still waiting for the A/C Unit to come in. In the interim, we were able to by-pass that system temporarily to continue testing the system and came upon a problematic leak in a sensitive area.
The pump vault has two lines leading to the main line. Each is dedicated to one of our two pumps. On the 90 degree angle of the steel (blue) pipe in the bottom of the hole and near the middle of the picture, there is a leak that we literally corked as we were working out the issue.
We have all of the parts necessary to make the fix, but first we must drain the water from the vault after we drain the irrigation holding tank to just below the intake filters seen in the picture below because the water in the vault will spill out once we cut the pipe, and will continue to spill water from the irrigation holding tank unless the water level is below the intake filters.
This is more difficult to repair than we had hoped, but we are sure it can be accomplished. It would be helpful if you could hold your phone calls to the message line so we can focus on this project. It is our hope the A/C Unit will come in shortly thereafter, and then we can continue to test the rest of the system. If you follow local news, you will see that SEVERAL other areas of Fruita are having a challenging irrigation season due to the breaks from the cable fiber going in last year: we have not gotten that far but we are hoping areas of concern can be isolated.
Just as soon as everyone can begin irrigating, we will let you know. Please make sure your Main Valve remains closed, and it might not hurt to check your sprinkler timers to make sure your sprinklers will water on the corrects days and time when the water is available.
Update 04/28/2024:
The major break has been repaired. See below. With the cool weather yesterday we were able to run the pumps for several hours to check as much of common areas as possible. We are not finished checking those areas, but fortunately all of the breaks so far are isolatable.
There were a few neighbors that flooded out their properties and surrounding properties. Please. Make sure your main valve remains closed at this time.
We are hoping to get the A/C unit in early this week so we can finish checking for breaks, fill in the hole where the major break was and turn the pumps on for the season. Hang tight, we are 75% there.
Update 5/2/2024: The A/C Unit came in this afternoon. Installation will take place tomorrow.
So far all of the fiber cuts to sprinkler lines are isolatable. We will announce when the irrigation system is up and running.
Should you encounter an issue with your Main Valve, call the HOA message line 970-639-4061. A few go out every spring so be prepared for occasional emergency shut-downs of the system.
