Water is on - Keep to the water schedule

It took a little while to get the system pressure checked because of the low water levels reaching us, but we are good to go. The pumps will be on the regular schedule tomorrow 4/30/26. It is not yet May and water levels are very low. It is only going to get worse during this historically dry year. Plan ahead and concentrate on saving your established trees, lawns are going to go dormant this year. The pumps are programmed to shut down when water levels get too low to safely pump: this saves us from having to replace burnt-up pumps, which is very expensive. The pumps will turn back on when water levels are safe again. The Board has no control over the amount of water we receive and how long it will take the pumps to come back on. No need to call when the pumps turn off, we are aware of the situation.  Thank you to everyone that waited for the go-ahead.

Pressure Testing Irrigation System 04/24/2026

Image
Today we completed an overhaul of the irrigation system by replacing the 7 1/2 horsepower pump with a new 10 horsepower pump to match our other 10 HP pump. We also replaced the variable frequency drives (VFDs) that will control both 10 HP pumps and alternate usage to make both pumps last longer (it more evenly distributes wear and tear over time). We are VERY excited about this overhaul because we have been running the same system for approximately twenty years and there have been numerous advancements in technology over that time. We will program the VFDs and pressure test the irrigation lines tomorrow (Friday 4/24). It is very important that Main Valves remain closed during this test. We will update you when watering may begin. Thank you! Update: the pumps run great and the VFDs are doing exactly what we programmed them to do. The main lines are filled and we were able to pressure test (and find a couple of areas that need work) for a while before running out of water and time....

Water in the 440 Lateral 4/11/2026

Image
Thank you to everyone that helped with the lateral clean-up this morning! Water is running, but it is very dirty, as you can see in the picture. We will begin pressure testing the system the week of April 20. Please close your Main Valve now, and we will update you when it is safe to begin irrigating. Watering schedules are available on the website. A word of warning: water levels are very low in the river. This may be a rough year if we don't get some much needed precipitation.
