Pumps are Off May 4, 2026 last updated 5/13/26 @ 1530 hours

Neighbors discovered, in the early morning light, that there was a flood in the area of Catkin Street. Pumps were turned off so the location of the leak could be determined and repairs can be made. We will update the Blog when the pumps are back on.

Thank you and stay safe Fruita.

Update 5/5/26: we tried to pressure up the main lines this evening, and it failed, so we will make additional repairs and try again tomorrow. Sorry friends.

Update: 5/7/2026: we tried again to pressure up the main lines a moment ago, and it failed again. We are making additional repairs to test the pressure again tomorrow. We want to have the pumps up by this weekend. Sorry, again, friends.

Update 5/9/2026: the line has been fixed again. We are allowing the glue to cure and will pressure test Monday morning. See picture below. It did impact the 4" main line in the area, and that had to be repaired, as well.

Update 5/11/26: Not great news this morning. The fix still leaks. The 4" main line may be warped so the fix cannot "bite" and form a seal. The sub-contractor is going to cut more pipe and try a flange repair this time, rather than a slip fix. Thank you everyone for being kind and understanding that we are trying really (really) hard to get this repaired as fast as we can.

Update 5/12/26: The pipe has been repaired. We will pressure test tomorrow. We will let you know when watering can start.

Update 5/13/26: We are very pleased to announce that the pipe is fixed and the pumps are back on.

Please, and we cannot stress this enough, stick to the schedule. We don't need everyone turning on the water tonight and burning out the pumps. We will all have a chance to water if we work together. We are not calling for water rationing at this time but do consider watering two days a week instead of three and please focus watering on your trees to prepare them for the lack of water later this summer.

Thank you to everyone for their patience. We truly appreciate you!!
