Have you ever wondered who to call about a dog off leash pooping on your lawn or in the neighborhood parks? Have you ever been concerned by cars speeding through the neighborhood, or trailers parked on the street blocking your view of traffic? Do you know who to contact about junk covered or weedy yards? Who do you call with questions about sheds or fencing heights and set-backs?
Wonder no more. The City of Fruita and your HOA Board are here to help. The Cotton Wood's HOA has also published a list of Rules and Regulations, which is available on our website.
Fruita Animal Control can be reached at 970-858-3008. The animal control officer can help you with incessantly barking dog, vicious animals, dogs off leash, and animals using your lawn and our parks as a toilet. Calls after normal business hours can be directed to non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707.
Fruita Code Enforcement can be reached at 970-858-0736. The code enforcement officer can help you with a variety of concerns from weedy and/or trash covered yards, snow covered public sidewalks, or neighbors running a VRBO without a permit from the City of Fruita.
Fruita Police Department can be reached via non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707. The police officers can assist with extra patrol for vehicles speeding through the neighborhood (ask about their speed sign trailer), junk/abandoned and unregistered vehicles in the street or on private property, and trailers parked on the street over the 12-hour limit. They also handle criminal investigations and emergency situations. If you have an emergency, please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1
The Fruita Planning and Development Department can be reached at 970-858-0786. The planners can help you with questions about permits for shed or building permits, or questions about set-backs and fencing height requirements. If you are planning a structural change to your property, don't forget to contact the Architectual Control Committee with the Cotton Wood's HOA, as there is an approval process per the Governing Documents.
If you have questions about irrigation, or have an irrigation emergency, please contact the Cotton Woods HOA at 970-639-4061, as we are not associated with the City's irrigation system. We have watering times listed on our website and we update this blog if there are any issues that required the pumps to be turned off for an extended period of time.
