City of Fruita Irrigation Outage - Do Not Panic
You may have seen on social media that the City of Fruita will be turning their irrigation water off to install a meter. This has no effect on the Cotton Woods HOAs, and, because we do not engage on social media, we wanted to alleviate any stress this may be causing you on our Blog Page.
Here is the City of Fruita's Announcement:
𝐈𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐. Irrigation water will be shut off for the following areas: property between 18 ½ Road, K Rd, and Myers Lane; and property between 18 ½ Road, Ottley Avenue, and Carolina Avenue. The map shows, in a light blue color, which areas will be without irrigation water. Crews will be performing routine maintenance and installing a new water meter. We appreciate the community’s patience!
As you can see, the areas highlighted in light blue DO NOT include any of the areas within the jurisdiction of the Cotton Woods HOA. Our Headgate (Main Line 440) is located at 1976 K Road and winds for several miles through Mesa County and into Fruita city limits on the eastern edge (us) of town. Being on the ML440 can be a headache, but in this particular case it is a blessing.
If you would like to learn more about where our water comes from, and the complicated process of getting it from nearly 20 Rd/ K Rd to your sprinklers, you can email our Secretary/Treasurer at cottonwoodstreas@gmail.com .
