Sidewalk Project July 30, 2025 Updated August 1, 2025

Today kicks off the sidewalk replacement project by the City of Fruita. Please avoid the areas during construction and cement curing. Thanks go out to the City for making this needed repair happen! The crumbled and failing sections should be demolished and removed Wednesday and pouring will occur Thursday and Friday. The pumps will be off all day Thursday and most likely Friday morning to keep water off of the new sidewalks and out of the gutters. If work is not completed this week, the pumps may be off for a short time next Monday as well.  The pumps will be on all day Saturday and Sunday so supplemental watering can occur from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. This is an excellent time to check your timers against the watering schedule: there are numerous properties watering outside of the schedule and it has not gone unnoticed.  Any updates will be posted here. Have a great rest of your week!  Update August 1, 2025: An unexpected heavy rain came through the area yesterday and cem...

Sidewalk Repairs Coming Soon!!

Image
The HOA Board was contacted by the City of Fruita about upcoming sidewalk repairs.  We will have dates and locations soon. The Board may have to shut the pumps down for a few days until the project is complete.  As soon as we have more information, we will pass it along!

Sheep and Water Update 7/19/2025

Image
The sheep have been doing an outstanding job! Below is a picture to illustrate the line between where they have been working and where they cannot reach beyond a fence (though they would really like to!). They will be moving to the next section of ditch soon to continue the effort. The weather is quite warm and this causes the irrigation water to get choked with algae. We have had low water the past couple of days because it is difficult to keep the grates and the bright pink water wheel on 19 Road clear of debris. We will be keeping an eye on the situation and will make some adjustments to the water wheel to help mitigate the issue. Due to some neighbors missing some water times, we will leave the pumps running this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 so that extra watering can be accomplished to catch up on moisture... please keep extra waterings to these times and continue to observe the watering schedule (with 183 residences we all have to take turns accessing the water sup...

The Sheeple have arrived!

Image
Today at around 4:30 pm the fencing was put into place and the sheep were released into the east side of the common area along the Compton Drainage Ditch. They are working sheep and will be with us for the next several weeks to mitigate the weeds in the area. Please do not touch the electric fence, especially without grounding shoes (zap!), and keep an eye on your small children. The chain link fences are not electrified, and the sheepherders encourage kind interactions with the animals. Animal crackers will be provided, and we ask that you not feed the sheep other treats for their safety.  Cameras have been set up and the sheepherders will be monitoring the area for activity. Please do not cross the fences, these have been placed for the sheep's and your safety. If you observe any safety concerns, please contact Robert or Kyle Andrews at 970-260-2130 . We will be announcing "Meet the Sheepherders" events soon to give you an opportunity to meet the High Country Environmen...
