We have seen an increase in the amount of flooding along the back trail as local farmers have cut their first harvest of alfalfa: they are dumping their irrigation water to allow the cutting to dry, and that extra water stresses the drainage system. Once the alfalfa is bailed and removed, this should ease the flooding some, but conversely it may affect the level of irrigation water reaching our irrigation holding tank. This is normal: do not panic.
Your Board has opened up a dialogue again with the Grand Valley Drainage District to address long-term solutions for increased development coming to the area, and possible complications to the Compton Drainage Ditch's capability to safely and effectively move tail water through our property without causing further damage.
